We’re delighted to share several important updates with our club community.

Pool Refurbishment
Our pool is scheduled for refurbishment commencing mid-May 2026. The works are expected to take approximately 6–8 weeks, with services planned to resume in early Term 3. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to a refreshed and newly painted facility.

2026/27 Executive Committee
We’re pleased to confirm that our Executive Committee for 2026/27 is in place, with all roles filled and a smooth handover currently underway:

Message from Head Coach Chanaka
Our Head Coach has shared the following update:

“I would like to share some important news with our swimming community. After several wonderful years with Virginia State School Swimming Club, I will be stepping down from my role as Head Coach to take up a new position as Head Coach at Albany Creek Swimming Club.

This has been a very special chapter in my coaching career. I’ve had the privilege of working with an amazing group of swimmers, supportive parents, and a dedicated club committee who have all helped create such a positive and encouraging environment. Together, we have achieved so much on pool deck and beyond, and I’m very proud of how far our team has come.

While I’m excited about this next step, leaving Virginia is bittersweet. The friendships, memories, and achievements we’ve shared will always mean a great deal to me. I want to express my sincere thanks to the committee for their guidance and to all families for their trust and support.”

While we will greatly miss Chanaka, we are incredibly grateful for his contribution and wish him every success in this exciting new opportunity.

We are pleased to confirm that coaching and learn-to-swim programs will continue uninterrupted, supported by the dedicated Pivotfish team of teachers and coaches.
